Happy Times' Approach - Not Just Caring, Nurturing Too

Happy Times' fundamental purpose is to take good care of the children entrusted to us, but that is a purpose we share with every other nursery. What sets our approach apart is the methods and facilities we have developed to help children acquire the skills, habits and good natures that will serve them so well at home and when they move on to school.

Pursuing these objectives is not only good for children and parents; it is good for our carers too. There is far more job satisfaction to be gained from helping a child achieve goals than simply looking after them while their parents are at work. It is the challenge and satisfaction of achievement that makes the children happy to come here every day.

We have fully integrated the Government's 'Birth to Three Matters' and 'Foundation Stage' guidelines for nursery education into our curriculum, although we believe that we do more than just the basics at Happy Times. We add an exciting programme of additional activities to stimulate and excite your child every day.

Learning Through Role Play
Happy Times offers the most inspirational and diverse curriculum to ensure learning is both stimulating and fun for every child while working to the Government backed framework. Furthermore we provide each parent with an education guide to help them assist their child in achieving their individual educational needs. As well as enjoyable activities from spaghetti, foam and jelly play to heuristic play (with real objects to develop sensory experiences) and outdoor play. Innovative classes from Spanish, computer basics and yoga to exercise and ballet are taught throughout their stay at Happy Times, assisting children's intellectual, social and physical development. Toddlers are encouraged to learn about their environment, different sights and sounds, co-ordination, language and social skills through an informal syllabus using lots of role play. Real life situations are re-enacted including 'at home', 'at the laundrette' and 'at a Chinese restaurant'.

State-Of-The-Art Environment, Toys And Equipment
Happy Times provides childcare at its best in spacious, secure and safe state-of-the-art centres. The nurseries are nurturing and stimulating environments, creatively designed to be felt, touched and explored. They are equipped with all of the latest toys and technology – which are updated every six months - from foam play, bikes and puzzles to computers.

A critical element of Happy Times nurseries is the specially designed indoor play areas that enable children to practice their physical skills whatever the weather.

My Routine
Babies are cuddled, encouraged to play and are closely monitored to check they are feeding and sleeping properly. On joining the nursery a 'My Routine’ form is completed to ensure life at home is followed as closely as possible.
